About us

The Capital Area Concert Band is comprised of musicians of all ages and professions including past music educators, medical professionals, teachers and music lovers. We have several college students, retired and semi-retired members as well as veterans from several U. S. military services. We even have a German language translator. All members enjoy the camaraderie of belonging to a musical organization and performing concerts for our supportive families and the general public.

Our repertoire consists of the usual and unusual selections of grade 3 thru 5 wind band music. We perform patriotic pieces, marches, overtures, medleys, musicals, show tunes, and a few old gems as we find them. Music is often tailored to meet the requirements of an upcoming concert or occasion. We make rehearsing an enjoyable event as we endeavor to produce music of merit while we improve our musical skills. If you are interested in attending a rehearsal or becoming a member please look at the our contact page for more information.

Funding any non-profit organization is a challenge and we are no exception. We encourage member donations of $35.00 per term to help defray our expenses. We will not turn anyone away who cannot afford to contribute monetarily to the band.  Donations may come in other forms such as sheet music, percussion equipment or other items that greatly contribute to our success. We have a WISH LIST page for you to review and of course our most desired wish is for a place we can call “home”!
